Five Digital Marketing Dos and Don’ts

Adam Hamadache*, author of the Amazon #1 Best-Selling Customer Service book Give Your Guest A WOW! and Hotel Consultant, shares five dos and don’ts in digital tourism marketing.

Do – Use Google Remarketing. It will allow you to advertise to thousands of targeted customers for free.

Do NOT – invest lots of time on Facebook without spending money on their advertising. Their algorithm changed in September which means that your posts used to be seen by approx. 15%, not it’s only 2%

Do NOT – be afraid to email your database more than once a month. It’s not your customers job to remember to stay with you, it’s your job to remind them

Do NOT – use ‘subscribe to our newsletter’ on your website. It worked 10 years ago, it doesn’t work today. Offer something of value in exchange for your potential customer’s details

Do – use video on your website and keep them under 90 seconds in length. Google reported for the second year running this year that video directly influences booking decisions.
